When is it again? The last two years I have been lucky with choosing my horses via names and colours rather than jockeys hahhaa. Only time I gamble. Feeling lucky this year xx

I would have loved to go this year but I am in New York so I won't know what I have won till I come back cause I never understand the bloody bets. Only know ive won when name of my horse comes first second or third

Roll on tomorrow for the names of the horses to come out. Hahhaa I'm easily amused

The reason for the time being changed from the original 3.45 to now 5.15pm race was a massive strategic move by bookmakers. They sold the idea as, any Saturday workers would now get the chance to also watch and enjoy the Grand National too. The reality is most Saturday workers finish around 5.30 anyway so wouldnt help them see the race anyway. The main reason , the real reason, it gives punters an extra 1 hr 30 minutes of additional gambling time AND most other racing on the day is complete so any punters still with money in their pockets after the afternoon racing can now stick that money on the worst race on the planet , as far as gambling goes. Same scenario for football coupon punters , almost all football coupons are completed by 5.15 so if your coupons down then its job done for the bookies, but if you have a winning football coupon you can now collect your winnings and have another bet and guess where ? The worst betting race of the year as far as gambling goes. Bookies are brilliant at what they do eh. All that said i love betting and watching the Grand National .
