"Is it just me or does all life seem to stop after 8pm. Can only vouch for Dundee here, but you rarely see anyone on the streets unless they are p*ssed up d*unk. Finishing work wtc. Are we just a nation of couch potatoes after sunset? " Scared of vampires

"Given that its cold and dark though, i am not really sure why you would expect to see people out on the streets?" Agreed

"Its the same all over the country unfortunately ...theres several reasons i believe 1 being lack of cash..its far more expensive now than it used to be so people will tend to wait til weekend 2 the smoking ban had a huge effect on people going out to pubs 3 the new drink drive levels (where some people would go out on a work night they wont take the chance driving the next day so opt to stay in nowadays) " I agree with your points but I think the biggest change I think is the Internet. When I was loon we only had 4 channels on TV, there was nothing else to do but head out! No online porn, fab,Facebook ect. You don't have to go out now to socialise so to speak. I used to think it was a disaster being stuck at home any night of the week when I was young! It also makes me laugh thinking back to when you ever pulled and would agree to meet up again. Always dreaded the phone call praying the dad wouldn't answer the phone! The joys of no mobiles and a landlines phone! Also on a side note, taxis cost a fecking fortune which doesn't help. I live a few miles from town and used to cost a few quid, now it cost £9!
