Sexual health check

Just been for my regular check up. I go every 4-6 months (at least) when not overly active and also go before I get into a new relationship. If I'm regularly active then I get checked much much more frequently.

Am I normal? Does everyone else go and get checked regularly? Peace of mind is something you can't buy in my opinion, and its peace of mind for your partners etc too.

I generally go every 6 months, but if I was worried about anything I would just pop into the clinic.

"We go regularly, plus I get my smear every 6 months too."

A routine smear every 6 months??

My understanding was routine smears are every 3 years and women aged 50+ every five years?

They are but if you've had problems they are done more often

I go every 3 months when getting my contraceptive jag, it's automatic for my nurse now to give me the swab and blood test lol and she always likes a good swinging story.

I think it's the responsible thing to do when swinging

I had colposcopy treatment years ago and for a while after it was every 6 months ... they still call me back every 12 now but its easier to have that done at your gp

If you go to Ninewells and arrive 10 mins before opening, you usually beat the queue and are taken right away

in & out in probably 30 mins, then results texted to you

I've given up on Ninewells - even when I've gone early I've lost hours!

Now discovered my local hospital does appointments and it's a 15min job

I can only go on a Friday afternoon, or have to take the day off work
