Booze cruise

Hi went on a booze cruise about 12yrs ago on cal-mac car ferry from gourock ,just wondering if anyone knows if they still do them ,if so could maybe try have a wee booze cruise .

not sure calmac does them anymore but smaller local ones still do from loch lomond.

A number of organisations used to run them on vessels like the Waverley. It'd leave the Broomielaw early in the morning and make passage to somewhere like Brodick or even beyond with pick-ups and drop-offs along the trip.

The attraction was that the bar was open from the moment you set sail till you came back alongside at the Broomielaw again.

The advent of all day drinking has all but killed it off.

One miserable old sod I know used to go with her friends on the cruise down the Clyde from Broomielaw. She went because it was free- a cause soooo dear to her heart- and there were copious amounts of tea and biscuits. Fact that it smelled a bit when the sewage sludge was released down the river hardly dented her day
