Sir Thomas Dalyell of the Binns, 11th Baronetis deid , educated at the Edinburgh Academy and Eton College ,nice , Dalyell submitted an expenses claim for £18,000 for three bookcases just two months before his retirement from the House of Commons.i earn just slightly less than that in a year, the noble lord must have had a shit load of books . a genuine man of the people

Despite the rather extravagant expenses claim most people would tell you Tam was a thoroughly decent man who fought very hard for his constituency.

Forty years plus as a politician. Asked difficult questions and stood up for what he believed in. Not afraid of the party whip or making waves in general.

I wish there were some new Tam Dalyells coming through but seems unlikely.

After all the ecellent service Tam gave to his constituents he is being slated for being educated.

All mps and msp s take very full advantage no matter what party they belong to when they leave.

If you do think he took advantage of the system please name all the others that did exactly the same.

Seemingly computers and tablets were the in thing to blag after the last election.
