Went twice last year, first time with intention of catching loads of free shows, but missed a few by minutes.

Then second time went loaded with Kevin Bridges tickets to finish the day off.

Combining the two this year by hopefully, taking in some free shows, pub, shows, pub, meal, shows, then a couple of top acts to finish night off, marvelous!

I will be so glad when August in Edinburgh is over.

I'm fed up of having to barge my way through the 'hoards' trying to get to and from work and being stopped to be asked ridiculous questions like "what time does the one o'clock gun go off' (I kid you not!!!) and 'isn't it great they built the castle right in the centre of town?' I ask you, are these people complete imbeciles or is it just the Scottish weather that goes to their heads?

I know I ought not to complain about the revenue it brings to Edinburgh, but I am, and frankly I wish I had the ability to disappear for a month!

And to put the icing on the cake, or the Royal icing on this particular occasion, Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall are taking over the city at the end of July - what joy!!!!!!
