who cares to join me on Friday the 9th in Glasgow to give the ultimate Christmas gift ? I propose meeting for a coffee and then going to the blood transfusion centre and giving blood then those who would like to once finished head for a pub lunch a mini social food optional but a special moment of giving this Christmas could make the world of a difference to someone who needs it ,, cheers,,,

Absolutely brilliant idea!

Unfortunately I am unable to give blood now but did so for many years as a thank you to others who helped save my father 30 years ago.

I always try to encourage people to donate.

if for any reason you cant donate blood why not just come along to the pub for a drink or lunch ,,,,even if your just out shopping ,, take an hour out and meet some friends new and old ,,,,

I sincerely wish I could but issues surrounding anaemia and blood transfusions mean I can't

I have however assisted a friend in setting up organ donation this week so I'll make do with that!

Haha I'd hardly call it a project, just showed her how she can sign up to be an organ donor should anything happen.

But I'm happy knowing there's another on the list xx

This is such a thoughtful idea mr def should be more people like you around xx . There are lots of ways to give at Christmas from charity's to soup kitchens and food banks even just go check on an elderly neighbour who are on their own a giving little christmas card sometimes a hello and a merry Christmas is all someone needs it can be a lonely time of year for some Christmas kisses guys xx

Brilliant idea, shame I'm not in Glasgow to join for the lunch. I used to donate but after having chemo last year and now on meds I'm not sure they would let me any more. Maybe I should investigate further

I hope you get a few others to join you

Due to having had a recent op I can't give blood. However I've donated to homeless shelter and trying to sort out volunteer work for myself and a friend. Also helping out at a veterans centre.

Where are you going for lunch? I work in town but can't give blood as I've had two blood transfusions.

Happy to say hello if it's handy for me.

Would love to give blood, but im not allowed due to a medical condition.

There is a campaign for male A and AB types just now, so go on and donate.

You will only feel a tiny prick at the time, but like a superhero afterwards.

Even if it was just yourself its a unit that may save a life in times to come. With ongoing things in my life I have a schedule of giving blood and folk I go with. As a side note blood and its products are needed all yr so if you couldnt make this make it another time
