So, as ever, I'm cooking.

Just me and my girl this year, so I'm looking for ideas for something different? She doesn't always keep too well, so it'll be something cooked from scratch, but elegant and indulgent....

firstly I hope your daughter is well over the festive period.

Mrs dlt and I are going to do the same as we have for the last 5 years,going to a local hotel with her mum and daughters.

Soooo much easier and no arguing over who is doing the dishes

I bought some mini-tiny-pumpkins, you know the munchkins.

Roasted and then fill them with some kind of cheese and place the top like a lid to open... and make some nice fresh bread or croutons and carrot sticks etc... as a starter.

Well it does look good in my mind lol

I want to do Guinea Fowl this year, as I keep getting knocked back when I suggest goose, and pheasant didn't go well with the younger members of the herd last year. I'm expecting to feed 12 this time, which should be fun!

My friends and their kids come to me... he is a chef and takes over my kitchen. His partner and two of their kids are also in the trade.

They are all there by the time i get home from visiting my family. I become a guest in my own house. Not allowed to wash a dish or anything. Its brill.

Pheasant can have a strong taste for kids.

I did duck one year that was well received and a jambon en croute one year. That's the French fancy word for a big piece of ham with pastry around it.
