I still have my French accent after over 20 years in Scotland.

It is stronger when am tired or not happy about something .

But apparently I do have Scottish intonations every now and then when I speak... Phew! after 20 years I do hope so

I'm Heinz, born in Scotland, left to move to England age 7 and quickly took up the Liverpool accent to fit in.

Moved back to Scotland aged 19 and have what I'd like to think is a posh scouse accent (I know that's an oxymoron!).

My kids have screwed up accents...a mix of Doric and Scouse!

"East Lothian accent although it's a kind of generic non descript accent "

That's where I'm based n the accent can vary greatly depending on the speaker and where in the shire they're from.

From a fairly normal working class twang barely different from an Edinburgh accent to a thick teuchter pans n belter twang that sometimes even I can barely understand

Well spoken, non-Glaswegian Scottish. I went to visit a student friend in Dublin back in the '80's, and seriously disappointed everyone I met, because I didn't sound like Billy Connolly!
