Ok first forum post so be nice lol

I've considered going to cjs and read most of the forum posts (it took a while) about the place and one thing stands out. It appears to be the same people that say they are going all the time. all the posts are the same.

Is it just full of regulars that know each other and are suspicious of new people? The posts put me off a bit

Why would they put you off???

People are allowed to say if they are going somewhere and others are allowed to keep their visit discreet if they wish.

why the downer on people who are regulars? Why would they be suspicious of new people?

Everyone was a newbie once!

And if you have read most of the forum posts you should have noticed that a few people offer to say hi etc to people that are going alone or newbies!

If you want to go to a club, just go and be sociable. Talk to people, don't wait in your corner for people to talk to you!

Inevitably, people that have meet a few times before at clubs or socials will know each other!

That's normal and is no threat to you.

Chat, mingle and take if from there and be positive.

Offt that cold is not good for me

Would depend what event you're planning to go to, the forum is a tiny part of fab therefore people who don't use it would attend, then you've got the swingers who aren't on fab.

I can only speak for couples n females night and fun for all, which yes they have regulars but there is also a lot of new people in attendance most nights I've been.

As for being suspicious I never found this when I first went and I've also never been suspicious of anyone. Don't get me wrong not everyone is going to get along and if you stand in a corner all night n don't make an effort to interact then I imagine you wouldn't enjoy yourself.

I always think people should go along n try for themselves instead of making their mind up by what they read on here or other people opinions.

What the lovely lady said.

If a group of people go regularly to some place and get to know each other they will become friends. This is not a clique, as some people round these parts might have you believe.

I am not a regular, being from the opposite coast so can only attend every few months. I have attended alone, with my partner and with a friend. Every time I've been made to feel welcome and included, and I've usually met people for a drink beforehand so people aren't walking in alone.

Go, be friendly and chatty and you'll do fine

Hi I was there last week and had great time and that was my first vist did know anyone before I went but I know lot people now it's only way you going to find out if you like is go to it

I don't think I mentioned clique but I've seen that used a lot. It's obviously daunting going into a club first time and if you are there and there are no other newbie people it would make it feel more daunting for me.

Obviously before I decide if it's for me I'll do a little research before going and I was just trying to find out on average how often new people turn up or would I be going into a room full of everyone that knows each other

At the end of the day you can do all the research you want, but every night is different so you won't get a definitive answer. Bite the bullet, give it a try and if it's not for you then at least you'll know you've given it a try. Best of luck

I agree with V. Bite the bullet.

First visit is daunting newbies around or not.

Say in your message to the club that it's your first time and Cjs will show you around and reassure you.

There's always new people every time we are there, so I wouldn't worry about being the only new person there.

Defo try it out...everyone is right...unless you try it for yourself...you will never ever going to know.

The people that go regular do speak to new people too!! Lol

Because there are only 3 Main clubs in Scotland obviously there are going to be regulars as it's basically the only safe swinging environment where people feel free to be themselves ....

Like everything else I think you need to step out the box It's the only way to get anywhere in the Scottish scene because it's all so backwards clubwise.

The forums and an absolutely tiny part of fabs and the scene
