Have a meet on Thursday and seem to have developed a dry tickly cough.

Does anyone have any cough remedies that don't seem to involve honey?

Syrup of figs, prunes, sennakot.

It won't cure the cough, but it will make you scared to.

Ginger is good.

Cut fresh ginger into small slices, crush slightly. Put them in a pan with a cup of water and bring to a boil. Drink few times during the day for relief from sore throat, coughing and even congestion. You can also add some lemon juice. And honey, but you dont want that.

I swear by Benylin Children's Night Coughs. Has always worked a treat for me and yes I know I'm not a child, but i react badly to adult cough syrup.

Why no honey? Honey has amazing healing properties. Manuka honey would help. If you don't like the taste of honey could mix it in with green tea or boiled water?? Xx

Tried the Vicks thing last night and will do it again tonight, got some Tryozets and Beechams hot drinks. Plus some honey even though I don't really like it, I'll try it in milk or black tea

Inhale steam. Thins the mucus and opens up your nasal passages. Also good for your skin. Cough medicines don't work. Officially. I work in healthcare. Don't waste your money.

raw egg olive oil and squeezed lemon juice mix together and drink tribal remedy from the mountains of morocco works a treat

I've just recovered from a cracker of a cough. Nothing was working till a friend recommended pure pineapple juice. It really worked.

Strong antibiotics and steriods are helping me eventually. Plus a mucus loosening cough medicine which makes it easier for me to cough and breathe.
