I love Dawn Of the Dead

But, to be honest, there's probably dozens I could name and my answer would change constantly.

The Hills have eyes, I reckon was based on an actual place, I swear I was working in America one summer and we delivered to a place just like it , made sure to leave before dark

"Anyone remember Tales from The Crypt ??"

Do you mean the 1972 Amicus one, or the 1980's US series?

The cabin in the woods was pretty good , a bit if everything thrown in and it worked.

The Blair Witch Project. Followed closely by A Nightmare on Elm Street and the original version of The Haunting.

There are plenty of good modern ones, you just need to look outside major studios mostly. Even then The Conjuring was an excellent haunted house movie. V/H/S, Love Nina, It Follows, The Witch, Starry Eyes, Contracted and Green Room are a few.

I'm a horror fan, so probably too many to list in here, but one of my all-time faves is John Carpenter's version of The Thing.

I like the old black.and white cucumber man version, and the modern prequel does a good job of integrating with the other, but it holds a spot in my heart as a classic.

Now let's hope that the supposedly green-lit remake actually adds to it and is a story taking place at the same time, not a true remake.
