Blocking query

Just wondered if anyone has blocked someone on here after they've told them they know them from somewhere. Woman I used to work with on here, been chatting, made friends list with each other then i though it better to mention that I knew her from somewhere before a meeting or anything went further, then...blocked!

Just wondered if anyone has done this and what the mindset is, as I don't get it! Surely better to say..."sorry, don't play with people i know" or something no? Or just say you're not interested?

I dunno....thoughts?

One of us neighbour is on, so I (Mrs) verified him.

I've also had someone recognise me from where I worked previously because of one of my tattoos. I feel slightly cheated though that there are no pics which may identify him to me.

At the end of the day we're on for the same reason, so I'll be discreet about them just as I'd expect from them in return.

We're all adults after all x

Sounds like they panicked. I'd probably do the same thing to try and lessen the potential damage/embarrassment, bury my head and hope that it will go away even though it's futile.

I'd have thought it "better the devil you know" and try and keep in communication rather than block and not know what they will do with the info...but you're probably right, maybe a knee jerk reaction to being embarrassed!

Was chatting to someone for a while then she blocked!

I found out the reason the next day when met from a dating site! Still seeing each other and having a laugh about it, but keeping our profiles on here blocked from wach other at the moment

Spoke to a couple . We git chatting on kik and i use my own name . So they checked and we had a mutual friend on social media .

They said straight away they dont mix fab life and vanilla life and it was to close so it ended and they blocked me . Absolutely no issue with that at all . Gotta respect others discretion .

Also found and played with local friends that i didnt know played . And recently chatted to a relative on here . We are all adults about it laughed and moved on .

Bizarre ..

You would actually think that having been in discussions with her and being friends it could possibly been a good thing.

The discretion part on both sides would have been paramount.

I've recognised someone on another site. Tried to be polite and put him off but he was persistent so i told him my reasons. We met loads of times after and it turned out to be a really good thing.

My first ever message on here was from someone I work with (and he included a pic) There is 100% no attraction and his opening message wasn't the introduction I'd have liked so I blocked him instantly. I still laugh/cringe to myself when he chats at work x

If it was a friend and we recognised each other then as long as there was discretion from both I see no reason to block although it might make me change my picture privacy settings
