Always handy to have an extra seat when all the family are round. I have a mental picture of my mother swinging away while watching the Christmas telly. Good luck op.

I got a door swing for Mrs but it turned out she's scared of swings . It now resides at the bottom of a cupboard never to see the light of day again

Beth here, we have a ceiling swing but have it on fence post in loft out of kids way an queations lol. Have it coming out of the loft opening with the wood across the opening. Needs more playing with tho still to get the perfect positions. But i love it.

I have a popular swing, cotton type, on my bedroom ceiling. The hook goes through the joist and into the loft, I remove the swing and hang a punch bag on the hook. My kids or cleaner have never mentioned it.

Bought a ceiling swing a couple of years ago and ended up modifying it to make it more comfortable (was straining my neck).

Much prefer the free movement of the ceiling to door swing personally.

Really must get it up in the new house

Thanks for you're input folks much obliged

Would prefer the 360 mouted one but I live in a flat and am wondering how if the beam would hold lol. Might be safer getting the door one.

A world of my own

Id love one but im worried that the beams in my room would get damaged from my weight.

One on a frame also looks fun but I imagine a faff to keep putting up and taking down.

Many of the mounted ones can take up to 25 stone when properly fixed

Yes I've read that but its the beams I'm worried about. I love them too much to risk them

I suppose of its a very old house where there could be damage/weakening I'd understand your worry.

I have the same thoughts with my newer house, the beams just don't feel as sturdy!

Got ours screwed into a 9" beam with a cross member above it so very sturdy. We hang an ornamental bird cage off our hook when not in use.

My ex put a smoke alarm over ours at first

The door one just seems so limited compared to the 360, good reason to get a house I suppose lol

We have a frame one, it doesn't take long to put up or take down, probably a 10min job

Bloody phone lol.

I was thinking I'd go on the door side and have her in the swing on the outside
