Teddy bears need rehoming

I know this is a totally random thread but now my kids have moved out and all their teddy bears are at their grannies,

We would like to donated them to an orphanage abroad but we can't find anything to tell us how,

Can anyone help please,

Not sure how it works about sending them abroad but every Christmas when we clear out our kids toys ready for the new stuff we split them between local nurseries and kids clubs, unfortunately a lot of places won't take older stuff they only accept new toys but worth a try.

Just a thought.....

If you cant find a charity or other organisation how about contacting one of our armed forces or someone in the armed forces going abroad? They are always looking for things to take with them to give to the orphanages or kids on the streets of the war torn countries?

When my friends son was serving in Afghanistan I regularily sent him parcels or collecting things for him to take out with him for the kids each time he went.

yeah but hospitals won't take them and a lot of uk based charities only want monitory donations and not material things which is why she wants to send them abroad

Hospitals, nurseries and other children's groups no longer take toys and other things unless they are new.

I tried to give a massive teddy (about four foot tall in its sitting position) to the sick kids in Edinburgh, a couple of nurseries and an autistic play scheme in West Lothian. It wasn't very old and had only sat in the spare room and not been played with (won it in a raffle) but because it wasnt brand spanking new nobody would accept it.

I hope you find someone who will take them and make some wee kids very happy x

The use them as raffle prizes for the kids at Christmas Fayre
