Glasgow city centre bars

We are planning a visit soon but we have no idea about decent bars etc in Glasgow.

Can anyone suggest one that is lively but not full of spotty faced 15 year olds?

Ps as usual Mrs J will be dressed in her shortest teeniest mini so hopefully someone can suggest one where she won't cause to much drama.

Merchant city is full of nice bars which have an older crowd, you've got Citation on Wilson st, just round corner on candleriggs is the wicked lounge which is a bit livelier n you've also got merchant square with a mixture of bars and restaurants.

Is that within walking distance of central station. Or should I say within walking distance wearing ridiculously precarious stilettos?

Agree with _earded blossom. Merchant city is a good bet. Arta another good venue with a dimly lit basement, live bands with great music you can dance to.

I am perfectly happy showing the wife off in her heels and mini skirt walking thru Glasgow city centre.

She however prefers to leave that kind of thing for warmer climates than Glasgow. Lol

It was there 2 years or so ago but maybe it was just a bad night but it was full of silly young kids. Most not over 20.

Personally we prefer a more mixed crowd.

Oh, I wasn't suggesting it, just curious. I haven't been in for years, I was probably a kid myself last time I was there, haha.

Have a great time.
