After my earlier collosal faux pas I am slightly apprehensive about asking but what do I have to do so that people don't know I've been perving their profile?

I had a situation where someone winked me recently so, naturally, I had a peek at the profile.

Instantly got asked if I wanted to meet.

I said no thanks.

"But you looked at my profile!"

It was another guy who was "straight" according to his profile.

My own fault for clicking I suppose. But usually when someone winks me I go have a look.
