Proud Brit and Scot!

Jump to newest

By *976scott OP   Man

North Lanarkshire

Watched loads of the Olympics over last few days and to be honest it makes me proud to be British!

Have the feeling in Scotland over the past few years that this is frowned upon however I'm patriotic and a very very proud Scot!

Should be ok to be both I think! What's everyone's opinion?

It is easy to be proud of being both Scottish and British.

Also watching the Olympics and cheering team GB on at every event

But...I'm Scottish through and through so will never ever consider myself British

Just me myself and I

Scots , not british , the desire to be british usually comes with a need to be ruled by a bunch of numptys from another country .

I am a cross-breed, Scottish mother and English father they met in the British army so yeah I consider myself Scottish as I was born and raised here but also British. Oh and I was conceived in southend-on-sea so doesn't that technically make me an Essex girl haha

I'm proud to be an Englishman living in Scotland. I don't count myself as British as I was born in England and raised in England.

To me personally that's my identity, and very happy to have it that way.

Just like an independent Scotland would want independence from Westminster, and then go cap in hand to Brussels. Madness.

"Am Scottish, prefer to be classed as Scottish,

Apparently, they understand grammar better than you do, Bothy. In describing oneself it can be "I am a Scot." "I am Scottish." or "I am Scots."

The latter, however, is the least common usage.

No I will always be Scottish, not my fault we are connected to England, and we don't have our own passports, we have Scottish notes but most of England won't except it,

So how come we get moaned at because we say we are Scottish

I think you can proudly be both. When you ask an American where they come from they usually say which state first, say texas then USA. I personally class myself as a scot/brit. I'd also rather be part of the UK than the Eu but I would've wanted independent from both but that vote has been done. I do know it's not worth people getting hurt overy such things. Have a great sunny evening.
