So seeing as there seems to be a few Socials that seem to be oncoming,I have an interesting question that's been in my thought process but..

Say your looking forward to the coming social, but also during the time leading up to your anticipated social, you have been chatting to many, then up pops the message of the one who you had been anticipating to get to know, who then says they are free on a day and up for meeting,

Your elated but then realise it's the date of your planned social...what do you do, knock them back, explain your predicament and that you have to go,they tell you fine and that's that

Would you choose social or a meet?

Id stick to my origonal plan as I hate letting people down .

Its not nice to have a social arranged and then to go read the next day your social didnt happen as they had a play meet with someone else instead.

Some think its okay but not me

Depends if you meant social as in a 1 to 1 social meet then yes stick to that as first arranged but if you mean a social event with lots of fabbers then id chose the meet

Mention my plans & see what he says.

Maybe could do something together daytime or another time.

If he gets humpty then best left anyway

Yes since I had to pop out I couldn't answer,

To reiterate how I was meaning I was meaning choosing a social meet with tons of fabbers to a 1 2 1 meet with one person you had been in contact with for a long long time...lots of social meets come and go, but meeting one person who you have your eye on a and get on well with.

I would go to the Social as planned, as indeed it's not nice to let people down. Lots of preparation goes into organising a social.

I may suggest to the person to come as a plus one if they fancy it/can.

Otherwise if we have been chatting for a bit, well, they can wait bit longer till the diaries match

thats different all together then .

Why not invite him /her/ them along to the social then have your fun after best of both that way

We do not meet without there being a social first so would not matter to us , so the answer would always be Social.

I had been chatting to a guy and we both wanted to go to an organised social. We met for a drink before it and had agreed if we got on I'd go back to his. We had a great night at the social and then went to his. Known him for s few years now.

Slightly different to your predicament but it worked out well for us.
