Since joining, have encountered so many timewasters on here- is perhaps time to start 'naming & shaming' to try and put them off?

It just seems par for the course these days. I had Saturday night wasted waiting to meet someone who then stopped answering messages.

People can change their minds but at least have the decency to say so.

timewasters are sadly one of the few sucky things you just need to accept when on here.

Who is to say she didn't have a very good reason for cancelling/changing her mind.

No one is under any obligation to meet....and no one has the entitlement to a meet.

In the great scheme of things if being let down makes your blood boil and you want to lay blame, then your life must have been pretty charmed so far, so chill out a bit. That's life....

Indeed.

And for instance, guy organises a meet with a girl. girl cancels because something has come up with work/kids/etc... the guy could name and shame girl to be a time-waster, just because he is pissed off!

It is frustrating but block the person and move on.

I won't name and shame but my favourite time waster was a woman I'd met and had lunch with. We had arranged a further meet at a hotel, where I was going to do a 'glamour photo shoot' for her and we'd see where the afternoon went from there.

The day before the meeting I texted to co firm before booking the hotel room and got a very enthusiastic gushing text back saying how she was looking forward to tomorrow and couldn't wait to get her hands on my sexy body, signed of with lots of xxxs

This was significant more enthusiastic than she'd been before, where she was happy to meet but a little cautious. I messaged back saying I was lovin the enthusiasm, but got a second text a few minutes later saying, coldly.. 'Sorry, can't make tomorrow'

I suspected she'd gotten a better offer (it happens a lot here, pointless taking it personally) so I asked if she'd mistakenly thought I was the other guy who'd made the better offer when I texted. I then got a reply about how I missed her by not looking like my pic (pics were 4 months old and I'd been growing out my hair since the pics were taken)

I had to laugh... told her I was cool with her cancelling but it was a bit much to text the wrong guy, and that message got me blocked on fab

Where did you see me state that?

I was taking an example of how it could be abused. Being a female, I cannot comment using a male perspective, as i only speak about things I know but feel free to make a comment of your own from your own persoective

Only a couple of days ago, we had to cancel at the last minute because something came up that we had to deal with. Does that make us timewasters? If the person had shamed us (which they haven't as they totally understood), that would discredit us for no reason other than they were pissed off that we had to cancel.

Can you see why, although we understand your reasoning to a degree, this wouldn't really work OP?

Here's another scenario: Two forum members meet, one decides thanks but no thanks, the other is annoyed at not having sex, so decides to name and shame the person as a timewaster as some sort of twisted revenge. This also outlines why a name and shame facility wouldn't work.

Depends what you class as a time wasted as well. My other half has been called a time waster because she answered the first message and told him no in reply to the second message.

Time wasters are a pain in the arse and it's happened to us all but just part and parcel of being on fab.

So if someone takes the huff they can give a thumbs down??

Won't work. It's a case of "he said, she said".

Got to accept there are people who get their kicks like that

Of course things happen and if an explanation is offered then you have to take it at face value

Biggest pain are those who just stop talking. Even though you can see messages being read. Hey ho. Their loss

I must admit i am a time waster. I waste womens time by sending the polite messages they have to delete. I guess its not the messages they dislike but my ugly mug.

Nearly the weekend.

Wanders in like a bedraggled kitten,

In all honesty time is never wasted, it just keeps going, never stops and much more things can be done, same as life it continues

If one does not make an actual plan, and your chatting on here via messages then your not time wasting in my opinion,

Anyhoo carry on

First off, sorry if this sounds like a rant.

We're new to the whole scene, and in the last three weeks we've tried to arrange 4 different meets, with 3 different couples. All seemed great with all three right up to a couple of hours before, then our messages were read but not replied to and ignored. Only to get an apologetic 'some other time' message a couple of days later.

The first couple of times wasn't such a big deal, more disappointing, but last night we cancelled other plans so we could make it, only for it to fall through not long before we were ready to leave. Not cool.

If you arrange a meet, and for some reason it's not going to happen or you change your mind, surely it's just good manners/etiquette to mention it to the person you're supposed to be meeting.

We get that circumstances change, or that people change their minds, it happens to everyone. Not nice getting let down like that though.

The last two meets btw...they asked us
