Found the food to be delicious and great value for money. That said I haven't been for a while cutting back on fried food. Might try the grilled dishes though.

Ive been to Chippy Doon the Lane many a time. Its a great place; the fish is fresh and chips nice and crispy.

This sounds kinda weird lol, but the bathroom is amazing, its all mirrored

The mushy pea's are tasty too

Edinburgh

Not had a good chippie for years.

We had a local a while back (Now a Chinese) and it fit the bill, but the chips were never great.

We have a van that comes round, but there's more black in the chips than in a lump of coal, and they're always soggy and tasteless.

There's a place in the next town, that delivers, but they're that busy, by the time you've got your delivery the stuff is mostly tepid.

So next time I'm in Glasgow I'm gonna visit the Chippie Doon The Lane, as it's got great reviews online, and would never have heard of it if it wasn't for this thread.

Mandy you should promise yourself to do that.

It was honestly the best chippy I've ever had .

Crispy batter on the fish and chips were crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside and tasted delicious .

They also do a loyalty card where if you visit 5 times you get your sixth meal for free which will taste better than any of the five beforehand lol

Enjoy when you do go xx

As Miss D says, Chippy Down the Lane is good. Excellent value and great fish, chips, mushy peas and onions

Then a few beers in the nearby Lab makes a good evening
