420 originated in the 1970's as a time reference for when kids would generally get high. School finished they'd meet at 4:20 and get baked.

So imagine your back in high school and you've got plans after school. Bump into your mate in the corridor, you'd be like "Hey *person* see you at 420?"

Its common believed it's the American police radio call for a youth related issue, commonly . This is actually the homicide number. Bummer Haha.

20/4 is also national day, American date 4/20/2016.

420 is also referenced in many hip-hop and Rap tunes.

I've seen the Aer Lingus flight from Dublin to Amsterdam sometimes goes from gate 420...either a brilliant coincidence...or someone at Dublin airport is a total legend (I'm going for the latter).
