I use skyscanner for flights and I recommend the ho-ho bus to see all the sights.

Skyscanner is your best bet, they also have one for hotels, too.

No idea, I'm lost. Damn Sat nav!

Skyscanner and setup an alarm for latest deals .

Just depends if you want to go direct or not obviously not going direct will be cheaper.

Macys

Woodbury common

Ground zero

Hop on hop off buses are a fun way to get around.

Little italy and China town also worth a visit .

Loads of restaurants and bars around .

Broadway show is fun too

Top of the rock and empire

state building .

And if you can afford it I'd recommend the helicopter ride .

Have fun

I went last summer. The helipad is at the south of the island and everyone knows about it. It's called Liberty Helicopters (or Liberty helirides). I was $250 for 20 minutes. It was amazing; I rode in the front directly beside the pilot. I stayed on Times Square and got the metro (subway) most places when we didn't get a cab/SUV or walked. Macy's, walking around, Empire State, ground zero, freedom tower, Central Park, ferry to Staten island, comedy club... Literally done everything.

Stay away from entertainers on the street, they charge to take photos with them (unless you want to pay of course) and every street corner has Sales folk trying to sell tours which you genuinely don't need... You take in more just walking around and enjoying the sights IMO!

Aberdeen

Would recommend Explorer pass if going to a few of the main sites. The Ride is good fun. Staten island ferry past statue of liberty is free for great views. Buy a Metrocard for the subway and a good pair of shoes. Enjoy!

Kilmarnock

I love New York - the first time I went (25 years ago) I got there at 4am in the morning - washed my face, brushed my teeth and went out. I've been there in near unbearable heat, and trodden through 11" of snow. As to anyone thinking that they've seen it all - they haven't. If you're an opera lover - visit the Met, if you're not - visit the Met. Take a trip to the Bowery - pay homage to The Ramones, Blondie, Television. Visit Chelsea, The Village...Run through little Italy shouting that Leif Eriksen got there before Columbus, find out about native Americans in New York State - they didn't/don't all live on the plains. Hoboken - home of Mr Sinatra is just a stones throw away. Spend more money than you can afford in independent bookshops and Victoria's Secrets, have bagels and lox for breakfast, forget about how rubbish the exchange rate is, - you'll have a blast!

All of the above as places to visit.

I found Ellis Island fascinating too and while the Staten Island Ferry is good there is a circle boat tour, leaves from near the Intrepid and goes right round Manhattan, brilliant
