An absolute sporting icon and world figure.

I always admired his moral judgement in refusing to go to Vietnam. He served a lengthy boxing ban for it. Imagine what career he could have had if the boxing authorities hadn't bowed to political pressure

Broke my heart this morning when I awoke to this.

As an avid boxing fan and former semi pro fighter myself who started his career whilst Ali was at the peak of his.

After his 3 year lay off for refusing to go to Nam I never missed a single fight sometimes sitting up with my dad to the wee hours.

Would often emulate him in the ring and often got chastised by referees for doing the Ali Shuffle when I should have finished off an opponent

Loved the guy to bits and his spiritual blessings were a joy to listen to.

May Allah bless you now Champ as you sit by his side.
