"I went to see my GP beginning of December with bad headaches. Got hypertension and was out on meds to control my blood pressure. Middle aged man with a family history of heart disease. Try changing your lifestyle a wee bit. Son bought me a Fitbit for Xmas, Now I'm a former semi-pro boxer and martial artist and I hate those poser gyms with a vengeance. So I synced my Fitbit with my PC worked out my calorie intake per day with the Fitbit Database yes it tells you the calories in a Greggs pie an stuck to the 10,000 steps per day. I take in approx 1,000 calories per day and I burn anything from 2,000-2500 I was just under 15 stone at Xmas I now weigh 12st 10lbs and my target is to lose the last 10 pounds. I set those targets for my birthday in mid April and did it. I haven't done any weights, sit ups etc at all. Stuck to walking a minimum of 10k steps per day. I live on the top floor of a block of flats that are 3 floors high. I use public transport and get off the bus a stop or two before my usual stop. Food and drink,,,, I eat the same just cut the portions, I have introduced fish into my diet that I never ate before. Coffee,,,,,yes when working in a stressful environment I was hitting 12-15 cups a day, that has been reduced to 4 and I don't take milk or sugar. I have replaced this with water. Best of luck " This is the kind of thing I'm talking about. Britain would be a less chubby place if everyone just did the small changes.

"Hi peeps, new to the forums. I hit a big birthday a few years and decided to change my life. Dropped 6 stone and haven't looked back. Took in a personal trainer and ate sensibly, nothing dramatic. Since then, I've gone on to enjoy 'lifting' and do so 4 times a week. And first amateur comp this weekend. It's about headspace too, a sense of wellbeing. Good luck to all trying hard. You can do it!! " Well played! And welcome!

"Some people go to the gym but don't have the gym body, but do it for other reasons like mental health. I suffered from depression years back and working out is the only way I keep it at bay. I'd much rather work out than go on medication. " Good point - I do both. While we're talking about mental health, I hope noone in the thread is beating themselves up about their body shape. In my experience how someone moves and inhabits their body has a way bigger impact on my level of attraction than specific physical characteristics.
