Never done, nor experienced it, but I do know of one profile on here where they ask for a monetary contribution towards travel/petrol costs, clothes upkeep and makeup used for the meet. Plus something from their Amazon wish-list.

If anything it's a good way to keep some folk away.

I finally met someone after speaking for ages. You are missing the point I made. A lot of people on here have been friends for years so receiving a gift from someone is no different to being given one from a vanilla friend. Not one person has said they expect to be given something.
