So I have been living alone for the last 18 months or so but now getting to the point where I am looking for a flatmate.

Are there other people on here that live in a flat share? how does it effect you accommodating ?

I don't have a problem going to someone's if they have a flatmate but would it put you off knowing that someone else was in ?

Also noise levels, I have a fwb who can get rather loud, how do people deal with that ?

I have lived in student halls where nobody really minds or in some crappy shared flats where I wouldn't bring someone home (Fraserburgh flat was awful) but other than that have lived alone.

Should I mention to prospective flatmates that I may have people round just for sex and that I am involved in the swinging scene ?

No no no don't fucking do it, do not fucking do it!!! Never mind the issue with having some one round for a play, just flat sharing in general is not a good idea for adults at all.

When I moved to Aberdeen I had this idea to save on costs and over 18 months rented the other room out three times, one to a good friend which was fine, she left for Dubai. Then the bullshit started with the two absolute douchbags I had afterwards. One would eat all the food & never replace it, would pish all over the toilet, leave pubes in the shower, wouldn't wash or clean and always bought fresh fish which would go off in the fridge. He also would bring back wee tarts from the schemes for one nighters which often had them turn up at the door long after he had left.

The second one ran up a Quaterly leckie bill of £854, told me he'd pay it but fucked off the same day.

Unless your able to find a contractor company whol rent the room for their staff or something like that, genuinely don't do it

A world of my own

What you do in private is your business only. I wouldn't tell anyone. I would however be respectful and not host a gang bang in the living room whilst they are trying to watch match of the day ....

Can you put the spare room on Airbnb? That gives you flexibility to say yes or no to people (or dates), means that you won't have the same person around for more than a few days, and there's always the chance of meeting some interesting people. I've been doing that for the last few months, and it's great! Plus it brings in more money than someone just renting...

It's an option but would rather have someone in longer term

I share a flat with a female flatmate. I doesn't effect me having singles round but I don't invite couples round unless I know my flatmate is away for at least a couple of days. That would be a lot harder to explain. I've been honest with her about meeting girls for friends with benefits so she's use to seeing a couple of girls come round regularly that stay over for fun for the night. I'm not completely honest and say I'm a swinger though.

I didn't know my flatmate before she moved in and she's bloody wonderful. My best mate also found hers online, and she's lovely too.

My flatmate knows all about fab - I think she'd be on here if she was single tbh! But I guess it's *my* flat so it's not really her business what I get up to.
