Ipod classic alternatives?

Okay so its been years but my faithful ipod classic has gave in

Theyve stopped making the model so i need something similar - i literally need an mp3 player which is high capacity and just plays music (no need for videos etc).

Anyone have any suggestions? Needs to also have simple ability to make playlists..

Any smartphone and a Spotify account. Never buy music again.

I have an HTC 1 m8 but the battery is far from desirable. Was looking for a seperate device for the gym

Any device you can download spotify or deezer on. Even your tablet keep if you have one, keep it next to you and buy Bluetooth earphones, they're pretty cheap nowadays, and bob's your auntie.

Alternatively,the ipad touch can take apps as well as store music. I think you can still get the classic on some sites. Maybe try Play.
