near Glasgow

Aviemore makes a great base, with Rothiemurchus, Glenmore, and Glen Feshie on it's doorstep. And plenty of hills around without getting all serious in the Cairngorms.

We often go up to Pitlochry when the weather allows. Some stunning walks around that area (Mr)

This is an easy one to help you on

google

walkhighlands

then add dotcodotuk

this site gives all walks and grades the walk so you know how strenuous it is

I have done many a good walk/hike from here

Not really one for camping, but love hill walking and mountain climbing. Particularly in the winter (I've got axes and whatnot). Glen Coe's my personal fav and have been there about 6-8 times over the past year. Arrochar is also good in terms of it being close to Glasgow.

Hoping to do some hillwalking this year. Not done anything too strenuous so far just Ben a'an, conic hill, tinto hill and goat fell but enjoyed them all. All been solo trips so far but wouldn't mind a walking buddy now n again

I was up Glencoe on Saturday and the views were fantastic due to the sunshine, its not often you get a wind free sunshine day at this time of year

then the summer comes along with ticks and midges

Well done but Ben Nevis is one of the worst hill walks you can do - it is basically just a hard slog. There are plenty of nicer hills.

Done Ben Lomond yesterday, weather was fantastic and the snow was crisp. Knees killing me today right enough or I would be back out

We just done the west Lomond, parked at Craigmead car park between Glenrothes and Falkland which was mobbed, 35+ cars, would be a laugh if they were all dogging

But it was a good easy 2-1/2 mile walk each way, nice & easy one
