Or

Hi there

Intel is the best choice AMD is more economic and doesn't perform as well as intel

1.Xeon E7

2.Xeon E5

3.Xeon E3

4.i7 extreme (gaming and ultra high performance)

5.i7

6.i5

7.i3

8.Core 2 Duo

9. Centrino

10. Atom

AMD processors suck

I've always just stuck with Toshiba and never had any problems apart from self inflicted ones.

Would always go for the intel processor. Offer much better performance

There tends to ba a common preference for Intel rather than AMD processors.

But in the case of the 2 laptops you quote, there's really no competition, the Intel one is about 50% more powerful than the AMD one. End of story!

But given the profile of what you will use it for you don't really need the extra intel power - I'd be inclined to save the £50

Id go the amd. Here is why. The i3 is a dual core the a8 is a quad core. The amd does have a better graphics chip built into the processor than the inter and its clocked at a faster speed if i remember correctly. Intel do make better cpus at the high end of the spectrum but at the lower to mid end amd is very strong.

Also folks remember these are mobile cpus not the desktop versions so are naturally run slower as have a reduced power to prevent thermal throttling. If your stuck do a serch for the cpu benchmarks and base it on that.

You can store more naughtyness on the AMD as it has double the storage of the Intel ...just saying

For that price either would be suitable...its not the processor that can slow things down usually to much software

Yeah remove the bloatware from the system first. Also if you like a solid state hard drive upgrade is the way forward. Laptop on login screen in seconds and uses less power and no noise.
