As I was at the TV night at CJ's last night, the rest of the weekend will be relaxing.

Going to the cinema later today with my girlfriend and tonight it will be a night in front of the telly and our Favourite Chinese, which has just re-opened after a 6-month investigation from the immigration people lol

Valentine's Day is what you make it. You can either sit around feeling sorry for yourself or you can treat it like any other day and get on with life.

I know what one I will be doing

I just veiw it as another day. I've got a day out with the kids today as it's been a while since last and then it's back to gutting out this house and trying to make some space.

I personally embrace being single/on my own on Valentine's Day.

I am a very romantic person, but the worst thing I can think of is being romantic for the sake of it or because society deems I must be so on one specific day.

If people get upset about not receiving a card or flowers on this specifically nominated day, then I'd ascertain that the other 364 can't be that great for them either, whether in a relationship or not.

I very much share your view here.

However, I don't think it would be too much to ask for some haribos from you, yeah? Not that tangy ones please! Sharing's caring and all that

I've seen the whole week looking forward to doing absolutely nothing in my pjs all weekend.

I'm going to change my curtains, iron some clothes for work next week, make a curry for dinner, a pot of soup for lunches next week, bake some muffins for my team at work and generally hang out with my cat watching shit TV, drinking coffee and smoking fags.

I'm more excited about this amount of quality time by myself than I probably should be!

I am running a Valentine's Day Fairy thread in the Lounge if anyone wants to join in though.

Of course Ms Starbuck. But you could have Haribos any day of the year you wanted. Valentine's day is whatever day of the year you want to make it. And people should never just restrict themselves to one. Have one every month. It's cool to be romantic.

I feel sorry for - actually, I don't - the people who MUST feel that they need to be included on Valentine's Day.

Just hand them over

I would much rather give a gift or do something special for someone on any other day than Valentines. That day is fine as a reminder to do things, but if thats the only day someone chooses to show me how much they liked me then I wouldnt be that interested lol

A random nice act on a random day during the year for no other reason than because they wanted to show me they care would mean a whole lot more.

Valentine's means diddly squat to me, it's just another day. I much prefer spontaneous shows of affection & love because the mood takes me, not because the shops want to sell me heart shaped cushions with "love" embroidered on them. I have family stuff to do tomorrow but I am taking Mrs J out for dinner tonight. Not because it's valentines, just because I want to take her out.

Mr J

Can't wait for Valentine's Day!!

Mrs is working and there's decent football on the TV all day. It Will be good to spend time watching my first love on Valentine's Day without the famous question "is that football on again" being asked repeatedly.

Probably being electrified by this US election like most other days. They can't seriously be considering Trump this is surely a national wind up. Sanders on the other hand? Integrity personified. And that advert had me in tears!
