So I see tons of folk with these vape things around, and I read up on them internetz that they are 95% less harmful than cigarettes.......but I car share with a guy to work each morning who uses one and on the inside of the car the windows are covered with a film of what appears to be oil, you cant wipe it off with a cloth and need to use window cleaner to shift it. he has the car checked to see if it was the air con that was causing it and the air con was fine, soooo surely if folks use thees vapes then their lungs will be covered with the same oil?

I know what your talking about. Our car windows are really bad with that just now.

It must be the same on your lungs but as a ex smoker I can vouch I am a lot healthier now that I've started using one.

Of course nothing is better than nothing at all

yeah i hear you...maybe lungs are damp inside and the oil doesnt stick...im dunno

Go beyond the marketing info thats there to sell to you. Lots of good studies out there , Google is thy friend lol

For any vapers out there who may be concerned.....keep away from any e-liquids containing this chemical.

It doesn't say what the other two chemicals are but I'll try n find out.

Also says there's no proven link but I don't think e-cigs have been on the go long enough for any long term studies yet.

I still reckon it can't be as bad as 'analogue' cigs though better safe than sorry!

Smokers who use e-cigs 'are risking harm to their lungs'," the Daily Mail reports after US researchers discovered some brands contained diacetyl, a buttery flavouring linked to lung disease in people who worked in microwave popcorn factories.

Two other chemicals linked to lung damage were also found in the cigarette alternatives, calling their safety into question.

Diacetyl was detected in 39 of the 51 flavours tested, ranging from barely measurable levels to concentrations of 239 micrograms per e-cigarette.

Diacetyl, a safe food flavouring, has been used to give microwave popcorn its buttery taste. But it has also been implicated in the case of eight popcorn factory workers who developed a lung condition called severe bronchiolitis obliterans after breathing it in.

Nicknamed "popcorn lung", bronchiolitis obliterans causes scarring of the lungs and loss of function that can become so severe the only treatment option may be a lung transplant.

Much of the alarm caused by this study hangs on the strength of evidence from previous reports linking these chemicals to lung damage.

However, this study didn't look at this issue directly, so whether there is a link between e-cigarettes and "popcorn lung" is currently unknown.

There's a small risk with vaping as there is a trace of the chemical that causes popcorn lung.

But there's high risk with cigarettes so vaping is again a better alternative. Xxxxx

Which dont coroborate with popcorn lung in the extensive studys undertaken so far.now an underhand e liquid seller may substitute the propylene glycol for diethylene glycol which is used in anti freeze. Im going to guess here but that may be bad for you

The study done by Harvard says the chemical that causes popcorn lung is in the flavourings. But it's only a trace and risk is low. Most the newspapers and anti ecig websites took a small bit of the study and came to their own conclusion.

I've got a friend who's a ecig activist he sent links out to the original study. I'm not that intrested tbh I'm a lot healthier than what I was when I smoked and ill be stopping the ecig soon xxxx

thats the point I was getting at allot of folk are ill informed and just take what folk say as gospel as your freind has probably told you there has been extensive studys done. With responsible blenders oils showing no adverse effects. Butthe media concentrate on the minority of quick buck blenders.the point I was making about anti freeze was what the media

portrayed to folk e liquid is anti freeze.

I have vaped now for close on a year a feel a lot healthier and fitter but then again I mix my own oil with no nic base don't see the need now as for flavouring it's dependant on how many drops you use in your mix plus the pg / vg mix most ppl like a huge cloud of vape so use an oil that has a high vg level
