They're not big enough to do it. Germany could in ww2 coz they were huge Isis isn't anywhere near the kinda numbers it would take to start a world war.

Besides if they started literally trying to start it they would only guarantee they're own death warrant, the blood thirsty polititions in England & America & Russia would finally get to scratch they're itch & push in they're codes and launch the nukes.

People would say this is a bad thing becuase of all the innocent people over there but I've seen videos from places like Syria & Iraq & believe me they aren't innocent. Kids under 10yo fighting over who gets to behead the Christian then all of them kicking the heads around playing football, its all just fun and games over there.

So I'd be a bit 50/50 on the whole thing

They don't have the man power, the fire power, or the nuclear power. Isis is just an idea its not a real threat, 5years time no one will even remember them I had totally forgotten about them until I seen this post.

Even if it did happen it wouldn't be a long war, they're be wiped out in a week or two

believe it or not these very words are reminiscent of words used about germany obviously not nuclear but they werent percieved as a threat until it was to late

aye but that would be people back then, old stuck up English guys like Winston Churchill still thinking it was the British empire, probably used words like poppycock when they heard about Germany.

The only countrys in the world I would feel threatened by would be America, russia, north Korea, would've said china but after the tsunamis and power plant stuff they are considerably weaker

Only real war Isis could start would be an internal war within Islam, religious civil war like. Islam is the largest religion in the world, if Muslims wanted to kill us we wouldn't stand a chance, thankfully Muslims do not want to kill us. I spent a combined 4 years in the Middle East and what I witnessed from middle eastern Muslims is the very opposite to what you see in the press or facebook posts being shared.

These Isis muppets will continue to attack random targets, sadly it's just the way it is now. Itl never stop. No-one can stop it, kill leaders of Isis and more just take thier place. It's just the sad state the world and humanity in general is in

I really don't want to start a flamefest but it's wise to remember that no army, however strong, has ever defeated an idea.

THAT is the real problem with ISIS, it's not a nation-state with physical assetts to destroy and factories to bomb, it's a set of ideals pursued by individual fantics - unless we can somehow counter the twisted logic that drives them then I fear it's a fight that will never truly end.

until the world gets rid of religion then war will never end, its the biggest cause of war in human history, scientist have proven evolution so religion shouldn't even be a thing.

It contradicts itself all the time, or atleast people do. Not so long ago god hated gays, it was evil blah blah blah but now its OK? "BTW I have gay friends & am fine with gay guys so don't take that the wrong way"

Then we have Americans, the biggest god nuts in the world, they preach Jesus and the word of God in everything they do, thou shall not kil but they're quite happy to let cops shoot & beat people to death & execute them on the chair, or gas chamber.

Get rid of religion & the world would be fine or at the very least better than it is now.

perhaps it would help to look at a world map with isis held territory. And to my mind they are a long way past individual fanatics with co ordinated attacks.they run these places through fear of attack forcing people to declare their loyalty to something they dont really believe in but left in the hands of fanatics you produce more fanatics.inteligence agencys also say they have key figures this also points to a group with a heirachy. As someone mentioned above its not muslims that are at fault here and thats the part we need to be careful of. You cant stop ideas or ideals but you can punish behaviours against your fellow man. Isis relys on the world spending to much time talking which they answer with action.

Isis are worldwide they've been trying to hurt the UK for the past year luckily our intelligence is up there with the best and they've been thwarted however I do believe isis are large enough to do damage if they wanted to. I was surprised they didn't do anything g over xmas n new year considering they're the biggest Christian events. I think religion is just their excuse not their reason.

Hitler wasn't perceived as a threat until it was too late

Our government won't let it go though.

Thanks for this thread not laughed so hard on ages first of stop reading the sun n record do some reading from alternative media oh the us n uk ain't got itchy trigger fingers they helped create IS In the war to overthrow gaddafie they were trained and armed by coalition forces and as for the turkey Russia thing that fighter jet was shot down as a warning as Russian jets were targeting illegal oil convoys heading to turkey

The human race is an agressive species... that's why we are "top of the tree" (some would disagree with that)... However there is a lot of intelligent, compassionate and humanitarian people out there and my hope is that they will overcome in the long run. If we don't survive as a species then it's no big deal, mother nature will come with something else, hopefully something better

Ummm not meaning to criticise your grasp of geopolitics but 'the tsunamis and power plant stuff' happened to Japan. Not China.

Im not so sure about the number game think of it like this isis are only a couple of hundred thousand strong now eith those kind of number if they use prrcisr planning and execution they could easily attack israel with a dirty bomb now that in turn would make america delcare yet another war in the middle east iran would take offence to this and declare war against usa in retaliation to this i believe america would attack iran prompting russia to join sides with their ally iran and attack america i believe isis is a feasable starting point of a third world war and this would be the war to end civilization as we know it einstien said i know not what world war 3 will be fought with but world war 4 will be fought with sticks and stones
