It's not a group thing, you add contacts like any other social app, and they have to accept. It's just another instant messenger but with greater anonymity as you don't share your mobile number like you do in whatsapp.

But you can be added to a group chat, which effectively makes it a chat room with 50+ users...

That happens in whatsapp too, but usually spam.

Post yours, then they can add you, but you will get spammers but you can block them

That's why I got rid of it. I hardly used it but spammers every five minutes. I really don't get the whole hoo haa about it.
