Taxi Cams?

Jump to newest

By (user no longer on site) OP

I just posted a topic in the chat forum but possibly it is better in the Scotland forum.

We were wondering about Taxi cams. Are all Taxis (Aberdeen ones) fitted with cams?

We were talking last night about fantasies and this one appealed to Mrs J.

The idea is that on the way back home in a taxi from a night out we will explain to the driver that the mother in law is baby sitting and would be horrified at her tiny mini/low cut top and would it be ok to change in the taxi?

If he says yes then Mrs J wants to strip naked inviting him to watch. The idea of being watched naked by a total stranger in close proximity really appeals.

Being a taxi cam star however does not.

That is exactly why we are asking the question.

My point is you might get told no they don't but is it worth the risk as some might and some might not.

You might pick the wrong taxi.

TBF a large amount of those seem to be based in London, lower key firms and asking casually way before you making any intension of what your going to do seems like the way to go

Or maybe a local taxi driver might respond. As I recall a few have posted in the past.

Think you are missing the point that I'm Tring to make.

You would be best to contact the firm your intending on using and asking their policy on cameras.

A driver unless quoting company policy can't give you a 100% guarantee no camera/camera answer so regardless of what your told you could get caught out.

Might add to the excitement not knowing.

Looking forward to seeing you though haha joke

not sure how it works in taxis, but I'm pretty sure it will be the same as those fitted by companies in trucks, the driver has no access to the data stored, and the company is only allowed to access the data after an incident, its all about the data protection act

I understand perfectly the point you are "Tring" to make.

There are a number of ways of gathering the information. This is one of them.

Likewise because of that your able to request to see any information they have on you so it's worthwhile asking the firm, granted you could always get a dodgy ass taxi driver

We were just told by someone that any cab fitted in this way must have a notice posted pointing it out. Interesting.

If its like trucks etc then the cameras are watching ahead in the road not back into the cab.

Sorry but firstly this is YOUR sexual fantasy it may well not be the drivers . You could be putting them in an awkward and uncomfortable position .

The driver could also loose his job and badge if you're spotted and cab reported .

Biggest issue with this is are you really wanting to distract a person in charge of a vehicle and potentially cause an accident just so you two have a quick thrill ?

Sometimes some fantasies are best left as that.

Oh dear you obviously didn't read the details properly.

We made the point that we will ask the driver if it is. If he says no then obviously that is it.

As for the dangerous driving concern he can pull over and stop.

And they are entirely entitled not to even be put in that uncomfortable position by you . You wouldn't exspect to be put in that situation at work why should they ??

Rather than a taxi and face any wrath with road traffic laws ask around the site if some gentleman with a 4 door car wouldn't mind obliging

Plenty on here must have a sizeable vehicle and many voyeurs would gladly help out

"Asking is still going to make alot of people just out trying to earn a living uncomfortable."

You would think going by you vehement protest, that you either have a partner who's a taxi driver or have had experience of a no.

It's a simple question. Yes or no and move on, the world will keep spinning either way.

peace out

Also bluntly I feel it's unfair involving unsuspecting people in to your sexual fantasy . Had you been looking for a taxi driver on here to play along with your senario on here then cool all like minded people . But just for your own gratification you are happy to possibly putting an individual in an uncomfortable position of saying no .... sorry don't sit well with me . They are just out trying to earn a living .

God where do i start with this 1 ...ok facts about internal taxi cams ..they are the property of the driver and not the companies or insurance companies so he will have access to what ever is on that cam ..it is there for his safety and that of his passengers.only cams fitted by insurance companies (facing the road) are closed units which save footage following an accident ...as for whether a driver will allow you such activity in his vehicle is another matter ...most wont some will ... temptress is correct in what she says ..the driver who says yes is putting his livelihood at risk and is opening himself up for all sorts of possible problems

Eloquently put.

I would assume any taxi driver who said yes would be aware of any ramifications involved.

Each to their own

Thanks for the input. Are you actually a taxi driver? Your comments certainly sound like they are based upon some sound knowledge.

In the time this topic has been running we have now received a few private messages from local taxi drivers who have said the same thing about the cams (where they exist) but suggest that in fact most drivers are self employed and are often happy with a little bit of entertainment - particularly on a quiet night.

Of course it depends on the driver - hence the reason we will ask them first.

this depends on who owns the equipment and how it is setup remember it is also used for driver safety and a freind had a close encounter and the mugger was caught due to footage in the office they dont all use harddrives in car

It's my understanding that no matter where the cam is, there must be signs stating that the equipment is being used and who controls the image.

So just look for that and you'll know who controls the images.

The vast majority of internal cams are driver owned as most taxi /private hire firms cannot afford to fit cams to all their cars
