A lot of fake profiles now

Seems to be more and more fake profiles ffs fab what happened this site used to be great now it has went down the shitter ........I don't know if most would agree but I have a solution to get rid of the fakes fab should make a rule that if you do not photo verify within 24 hours of signing up then your profile is deleted it's a good way of ing out fakes as your verification pic is never made public so shouldn't be a problem I wonder who agrees and disagrees with this

Personally, I think a photo veri is even easier to fake than a meet veri. I had a meet once who got a friend to "help him out". He subsequently left.

It was just a thought but if you look at it in another way it might stop some from pretending to be someone they are not like a guy pretending to be a couple or a woman

Basic rule to spotting a fake: not photo verified but meet verified by one person, who typically have hidden their profile or are themselves only verified by one or two people at the most. We avoid all people like this, as screams fake or time waster.

Or new, or newish and not in the swing of things (no pun intended). There are a few who have offered advice, and I thank them for it.

But more who don't help and it actually makes fab a slightly daunting and unwelcoming place, unless you eat, bake or bring cake.

There are plenty of fake profiles but not much can be done about that, it is a free site after all.

It doesnt help when there are fools verifying others without meeting them though. That just adds to the problem.

I've been asked before to verify someone I hadnt even chatted to before the report button comes in handy then.

I'm pretty new to all of this (3 months), and its difficult to spot fake ones, I'm finding I'm getting messages from couples, but they're not 'couples' more fuck buddies or friends. It's harder to work out who is actually genuine couples!

Also, I'm not sure about the idea of cam verification, it's not the same as a f2f, in person meet! xx

We are not photo verified either and no intention of doing so. We been on here for years on and off. Fakes will always find a way.

We got called fake once as we did not want to meet a guy as he was to pushy and our instinct said no.

I think we photo verified our first profile about 5 years ago... Never done it since. I think like you said your gut tells you. Also been called fake by a guy who's initial message was his phone no so we could phone to prove we weren't fake! K x

We have been on site for years, are not photo verified but have met lots of people, been verified by them and are most definitely real.

5 months you have been on site but not met anyone or been verified by anyone and are only photo verified.

Who sounds more real here?

We think photo verification is an easy way out. Anyone can hold up a bit of paper and talk the talk, but can you walk the walk?

I agree but how can veris that quite clearly state that no meeting has taken place be allowed? It's like fake pics from the web getting through. I'm a great supporter of admin but come on guys..what checks are in place here?

When I was here last time got duped by a "couple" which in fact was an insanely jealous guy, pissed off that I'd met a "good friend" of his. It got really nasty, threats of violence and " I know where you live etc"

I've learned not to believe everything I see or hear.

Ive met couples where one half was only doing it to keep the other happy whereas at least with fb they are both into meeting

We have been here since pretty much the start of the site and have never been photo verified.

They are easy to fake and we have been contacted by some verified but fake profiles.

Ditto for verifications, easy to get a few.

You get a feel for fakes after a while.

That's what socials are for - to meet folk to start you off so people then can know you are real.

Annoyingly, Ive been the guy whos FWB is "sometimes" available and it was legit. Soon realised it was a tool used by actual single males (and Im no longer her FWB). Ive been speaking to a couple of fakes recently. Couldnt send pics, no snapchat no facebok, KIK and no whatsapp, and another girl who "knew" me yet couldnt tell me my name. Yet as a single guy, it fraustrates me that people will reply to fakes wth god looking pics when theyre just being duped by 62 year old John from Dunfermline!

I think that some folk try to protect their identity too much and can seem a bit dodgy by doing so. I personally like to keep my sex life private and am cautious when messaging. However, fake profiles just muddy the waters and create a poor atmosphere on the site.

I'm not fake, im photo verified, like to keep my profile stuff private though, along with my sex life. I suppose this can put women off from contacting, cos they don't see pics or veris, I update my profilee every so often to freshen it up.

We have been here a few year and attend clubs and have a few friends but no intentions of being photo verified cause we don't need to. Our real friends have verified we are a real couple. If it's only one of us chatting the both of us will talk about it together as one does want to meet and one doesn't want to meet so unless it's unanimous we decide no! That's not wasting someone's time as the decision in our situation requires 3 or 4 yes lol

I can't understand the ones who use fake pics on a real profile. Just seen a tv who has met a few people but their main pic is someone completely different, and it's obvious it's far better than all their other pics, which are probably genuine.

Yip. Noticing more and more new profiles that have been verified with the likes of "met a while back" or "been meeting for ages". Yes, could be returning members verified again by old meets but the cynic in me thinks a good few arent
