Like all consumerism, it's a choice.

If, and I expect when, UK consumers and retailers grow tired of what is essentially a flash gimmick, I expect we'll not see too much more of it over here.

Some retailers are already turning their back. It's a spectacular amount of effort, although admittedly, a decent opportunity for sellers to clear expiring sales lines and aging stock.

It maybe a gimick but it sells stock. Shops would be crazy to not jump on the bandwagon with it. They are in the business of selling after all.

Last year it made a huge difference to sales figures so long may it continue. Until the next idea comes along

Yes, but at what real cost. I would hazzard a guess that the major Electrical retailers, are busy a FCUK on Black Friday, then dead until Boxing day! Basically just getting all of Decembers turnover/takings on one day, and managing to get it banked in November!

Yeah you will be right but not everyone shops on Black Friday and not everything is included in the discount

My other half and his daft pal are going to tesco fir it. There not buying anything but are going to watch the fighting. I on the other hand will be sensible and do what any sensible person would do and stay in bed. Fuck shopping at 5 in the morning xx
