How accurate is the mobile distance thing on the site. Seems a bit random even though supposed to be using GPS.

"Sais a town to me is 37 miles away when its more like 80"

Maybe works "as the crow flies" so to speak.

Dunno, there's a couple I've been to who I know are exactly 4.2miles away but this says they're 10miles away

It takes the distance as the crow flies rather than sat nav or road distances

Aberdeen

Mine is awful, has me in London when I'm at the other end of the country!

Never look at it, and never pay any attention to the messages from excited men who see that we are apparent 1-2 miles away and think their proximity is a green light for fucking us

I had someone in Cornwall near to me this morning as well as someone from Dundee.

Not sure it's very accurate!

Glasgow

If they logged onto fab, sometimes people, are mobile because of their work. I live quite near several industrial estates and lots show up as 1 mile away then it changes later. Also I'm near a lorry park up area and the same applies.

That explains the variances in distance in my opinion

I am in Greenock and can confirm this. Also people in Argyll come up under 10 miles away! !

There seems to be a lot of crows flying about on here but I never seen one. They must be interferring with the signal and that whats fucks it up

Depends on how its pinning your location. Sometimes it will not use the gps but another method via ip adress wifi signals etc. These can throw strange results like London.
