Why do you get blocked by folks for being polite?

Surely at least a reply saying no thanks and why before they hit the block button isn't so difficult.

Some just dont accent a no thanks you too well as I've learned from experience sometimes they leave you no option but to block

Some may not see the point in sending a 'No thanks' message.

Maybe they have too many messages to reply to from folk they are actually interested in.

I rarely message back those who randomly message me without any sort of contact first. But thats just how I do things

Lx

As long as they haven't been abusive then who cares. If they block you they aren't interested move on

Sometimes a no thanks gets a return mail with abuse. So people just block to avoid it.

You probably knew this anyway.

Not been blocked (that I know of) but do get ignored (unread or deleted without reply) mostly on here, as to why that may be... any advice appreciated.

But... I've ended up waffling...

In response to OP... you've avoided meeting an ignoramus, no loss.

do you reply to all the junk mail you get at home ?

my guess is no you don't ...insinuating people are ignorant for not replying isnt fair unless you know whats been said in the email and who the email was for .

I don't reply to every email because that's my choice and my no thanks is on my profile

As I understand it OP seemed to indicate his message was not of that nature, nor is it my preferred introductory message, but.. okay.

Of course no one is under any obligation to reply.

That's a fair enough point but was taking OP to his word that his message was polite.

I try to reply to every message but when I get someone messaging me at a later date even when I've said no thanks, I'll message them then block.

For the avoidance of doubt I am referring to those who have been actively chatting...'friends' even. Some very predictable comments though.

No offence, OP, but I've seen you be less than polite on the forum. Maybe others have too and that may have influenced their response.

Hey I had a " friend" who sent a shitty veri because I wouldn't play with him at a party and who accused me of being an escort..... So " friends" aren't always what they claim to be

I don't doubt for a minute that you already know that there's nothing stranger than folk

There is absolutely no way for us to give an answer to your original question without seeing exactly what happened. So we have all speculated and told you the way we do things. If you read through them you will see that everyone is different.

Who knows what you wanted to hear but we all had the decency to try and reply to your thread

This topic isn't new but it is one that will always recur as people struggle with both sexual and fab etiquette (similar but also subtlety different). All comments above are fair but as _ab fem rightly said reactions are always different. As a single fem on here I always try to reply on the civility costs nothing tenet... I have been delighted by the many civil responses BUT there is a healthy dose of responses to a polite no thanks that make you want to tear your hair out. They vary from a "why not" to "can't you just fit me in" (possibly the most offensive response lol) to various really crude/abusive ones. I think this results in many women listing a long line of "dont's on their profiles much to the frustration of genuine males. However basically I won't let anyone bring me down to their level if they can't decipher a polite no thanks, which I do say that clearly then I often reply to clarify but it can push you to the block button. Some will still persist with ridiculous questions even if you've clearly said no. I have found that being polite has led to finding out that there are lots of great single guys in here and alas rude folk of both sexes just make it harder for the rest of us. Ohhh interesting that fab states a no reply is a polite no thank you.., I didn't know that was official lol

spot on how people take rejection whether it's ignored messages or a polite no thank you makes all the difference and those who spit the dummy In my opinion deserve to be blocked
