What's your favourite place to visit in Scotland.

We recently had the pleasure of a brief visit to Plockton, a beautiful little place with friendly locals and visitors alike

.

Scotland is full of places like that and that got me wondering...

Where have you visited that you would give a thumbs up Fab too

Anstruther . Love the little beach there and the best fish & chips in the world.

To be fair though Scotland has so many beautiful spots and beaches. Even portobello as the sun goes down is a lovely place to be.

MAMOBA, miles and miles of bugger all (Aberdeenshire)

Too many to list... but off the top of my head

Aviemore

Pitlochry

Edinburgh

Cullen beach

I'm quite fond of Dundee as well.

I love the area I live in, I can be in the mountains in an hour or on the beach in an hour, or even in the city in an hour too, but have the plus side of a lovely rural location and a small village.

Also local to me are the Dukes woods...private land though.Stopped going there for a wee while years ago after being told to "get orf moi laaaaand!" by a shotgun wielding grumpy gamekeeper! .....Was a fair bit off the beaten track that day though.

Chams or Socials

I adore Edinburgh because it's my 2nd home.

My great aunt lives in Portobello/Joppa & I love the _iew of the sea from her house.

My grandad was from Fraserburgh & I remember driving along the Banff coast as a teenager & thinking how lovely it was. There was a lido I remember "swimming" in which was abandoned but is in the process of being renovated. I've not been back since as it's about a 10 hour drive but my dad went back in June to take loads of pics & get a bit of family history

Might be best not to go back. My bf used to go his grannies caravan in the Maidens every year. When he past his test we used to go down for the day then when kids were born we took them. Then a few years ago he said we're not coming back as it had changed so much it was no longer the place he rembers as a kids. He was very upset about it which is very unusual for him as he normaly doesn't give a damn about anything really xx

Used to go visit good friends of mine down the borders in Trostyn,a 45 min drive from Thornhill...could be wrong here but think it's about 1000 meters above sea level...so high up in the mountains!

Was awesome for a bonfire n VERY LOUD music! Nearest neighbors were three miles away!

Was great for a good walk in the stunning scenery...as well as going swimming and/or fishing in the numerous pristine lochs

Went down there 4-5 times a year for about 7-8 years.....got up to some serious nonsense in that time!

Morning, I'm lucky I get to all these places. I drive a touring coach and been all over Scotland.

When the sun shines this country is spectacular, especially on the west coast. Jim
