Last night, BBC1, a great advert for the Aviemore area.

Used to visit regularly, done a lot of walking around Rothiemurchus, Glenmore, and Glen Feshie. Made me realise how much I missed it.

Falkirk

It was on last night. My little girl was watching it and asking if we could go there.

I had to point out that we already have lol

But I promised to take her again next summer

Must check this out on iplayer.

I can often be found wandering the glens.

Your right, such a fantastic area for walking. Glen Feshie in particular is stunning.

Why ever did you stop Mr Bothy Nichts ?

I have NO connection with the local tourist board, but there's just so much to do, for both adults and children.

The mountain hares and snow buntings are my favourites. Crisp blue sky days in winter and a thick crust on the snow.

I know. Hopefully, if I get my new car before the snow thaws, I'll be able to take them up to experience it in the snow too

I love driving around the highlands in the summer. I was very luck to do it for 6 months this year for work - getting paid to look at some spectacular scenery

Just watched it. As a regular visitor it's a good watch and interesting to see what happens behind the scenes in the summer months. Will look out for the other episodes in the series

Your answer in 2 words........circumstances and logistics.

However, the logistics might just be changed next year, we'll see!

Much of my (misspent) youth was amongst the glens - especially Glenfiddich, Glenmorangie and Glenlivet

We used to do a lot of bothying and found some outstandingly beautiful places that way

That was before the kids got older and started to wonder why their friends were spending their holidays in disneyworld, lounging by poolsides or lying on beaches in exotic places while they were carrying rucksacks up hillsides, washing in burns, fighting off midgies, eating burnt sasages and figured they were being shortchanged, lol

As I'm mainly a 'low level' walker, although I have done a few Munroes, I haven't come across many bothies.

But one I did come across was in Glen Feshie.

There's quite a few dotted around the hihlands on the west coast, more remote rather than high up in the mountains

His micro adventures are good, another man attempted to build 100 huts. He stalled at 23 which was a shame they were good to attempt by myself
