I'm sure it's been asked before & I could probably go online to find out. Bit I'm a lazy bastard so I'm asking here. At what size does "plus size" start?

Am I right in thinking the "average" woman in the U.K. is size 16?

I know I'm not.

The problem is it depends on each individuals idea. Some people think a plus size is a 14 some think it's 20. It's a subjective question as I'm sure you will know.

Size is all in the eye of the beholder.

Its hard to judge purely because you could be a size 12 in one shop and a size 14 in the next.

Thats very true as it depends on the designer personally i range from a size 28 - 32 depends on the make of the clothes im wearing go back a year and i was a 34 in some things

Most shops definition of plus size seems to be 14-16. (Correct me if I'm wrong ladies)

However, with ladies shapes changing over the years, I think that is now outdated.

Personally, it doesn't matter what size you are......if you're a total bitch it's a massive turn off.

But as far as clothes? I would think judging by the adverts I've seen recently, 18 and up seems to be the way online retailers are moving

You're not wrong Fuzzy, most shops do class a 14 as a plus size. But as we all know, a 14 in one shop varies greatly from a 14 in another

I've never got that either. I know that ladies can be 3 or even 4 different sizes from one end of the high street to the other.

There are certain shops I just don't bother going into - French Connection, Zara, places like that. Their XL is a 14.

I usually shop in New Look or Dorothy Perkins, their clothes fit me better

Even the supermarkets are doing clothes in bigger sizes. That must say a lot these days

a shop specifically for plus size might start at a 14 but where a shop just has a plus size range its usually 16 or 18 it starts at .... because their 'normal' range will probably stop at 14 or 16
