That's great to hear it helps you.

I meditate but I'm not sure whether to try mindfulness. I don't know whether there is a point. It seems similar

There are lots of meditation groups around now. It would be a good way to let you try it out

Both are probably things that I should investigate a bit.

Mindfulness is becoming increasingly more popular as a therapeutic practice.

A few people I know have recommended the head space app as a starting point

When stressed I practice deep breathing not sure I would call it meditation though I do try to empty my mind and concentrate on breathing pattern

I regularly use Qi Gong for relaxation and since learning to deliver auricular acupuncture I'll sometime pin my own Shen Men if I'm struggling to sleep or feel anxious. Both work a treat

Yeah I do, originally I dismissed it as being a sort of religious - new agey type of thing, but the science and research on mindfulness and meditation is absolutely loaded, it is without doubt 100% the best thing you can do for your mind.

I started trying it when suffering from extreme anxiety and depression and it's helped me greatly. And I don't do it everyday, but apparently just 5 minutes a day can improve focus and concentration, memory, alleviate depression and anxiety.

Practicing mindfulness, paying attention to your breathing literally begins to re-wire your brain.

Sorry for the novel, totally geeking out over this but yeah I did a lot of research on this and point is, it works. The evidence is indisputable.

And if you're into tantric sex, holding off orgasms, it helps too. Everyone's a winner.

As a practicing Buddhist I have used Mindfullness meditation in my daily life for quite some time now.

I am currently studying a Post Grad in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and find Mindfullness has helped me greatly through the course

Interesting conversation. I have a Black Dog of my own, and my doctor has suggested this to me. I think I'll look into it.

I'm trying to get into a meditation routine and introduce the principals into daily life, to help manage anxiety and stress, and to ditch the habit of dwelling on the past and worrying about the future. To just 'be'. (Her)

Yes, mindfulness is part of my every day life now, and I meditate regularly.

I also do things like Bodybalance which encourage movement and becoming more aware of your own body and inner thoughts.

I definitely feel better for it.
