Don't get a basque. Just go for a corset. I got my first corset today and I'm in love with it! Just need to find Someone to come and give it the official seal of approval

It depends what you're using it for. If it's just bedroom fun a basque will be fine, if it's more a party or going out then I'd say go with a corset.

The hazard of buying on eBay is what will the quality be like, personally I'd rather use somewhere else

I'd say don't buy online at all. Certainly not if it's your first - it's just too hit and miss trying to get the right size. There's one gem of a shop on King Street with a good range and the staff are great. I'm sure there will be others around Glasgow too.
