To everyone in the FAB community who have been stood up or lead up the garden path .I reckon we should name and shame all the fake profile and time waisters in here

yes but if we do that think of all the nasty people who would lie about someone they didnt like just because they would be allowed to do it. It would be abused totally so dont think its a good idea. there should be something we can do but dont know what.

i wonder if a timewaster has ever put a forum post up saying "too many genuine people on here"

get over it and move in, the constant forum posts about it are doing nothing.

Problem with this idea, as has been said, totally open to abuse. Plus, what constitutes a timewaster? Someone who doesn't answer a message, ignores a wink, stops talking???

It's all open to abuse. Even reporting someone could be a malicious way of hassling someone. Some people need to realise this is just an extension to their life, there is more to life than FS. If we are willing to put ourselves on here, then the time wasters etc are all part of the same show.

Only real way to stop it bothering us is to leave. IMHO .

Just be more selective about who you try and meet. We've never found out someone we have been chatting to was not who they said they were and we've never been stood up. We did have a couple not turn up at a party but they gave us plenty of notice.

There are genuine people here and some are awesome

I just block and move on cos I've had to cancel a fee meets in yhe past for various reasons but doesn't make me a time waster I hope lol

If people bothered to use the 'search forum' option there wouldn't be as many of these posts. They'd see the others that all say the same thing. But no one does

To me, people who moan constantly about timewasters are simply forgetting the fact that this is a WEBSITE and just like every other WEBSITE it will have its fair share of chanty wrasslers.

It sounds rather desperate to go on about it. Take reasonable steps to protect yourself but its all in the way you use the site.

Naming and shaming is never the answer. I could name and shame several people who can't read well and keep wasting my time by not reading my profile then messaging me. But..I find my own solutions.
