"There's a thread over in the lounge about organised meets, and the wearing of name badges. Some feel that they would find them useful for identifying people they've spoken to online or knowing who they want to message afterwards, and others don't feel comfortable having their username on show in case some non fabbers google them. So my question is for those that attend my drinks nights - how would you feel about badges? Is this something you'd like to see, or think it's a bad idea? " not a good idea at all as discretion would go right out the window. Can you imagine some standing at the bar with their name badges such as Mr big cock or pussy pounder.... Miss suckslot or cock lover lol

"I think those who would find it useful felt it would help them to approach people at the socials, as they would have spoken to them online so would have someone to talk to. Business cards would be useful for those wanting to message afterwards I think " That's the whole problem with socials tho, once most get into a venue they tent to get into groups and won't venture to other tables and introduce themselves. And quite often friends just all sit together instead of mingling and meeting new people. The whole point of socials is to get out there and meet. How many times have you read after a social that people felt excluded? And in my opinion that's because they didn't get around to everyone and instead choose to sit in a corner and watch from afar. I'm not say everyone does this but most.

"We were discussing this at the last social, it has its advantages but for all the reasons mentioned it was dismissed. It's not hard to come online the next day and ask on here who was who (which we did) Private party would be different as no issues with usernames then " We were at a social a few weeks ago (it seems like yesterday!), and a couple messaged us the next day saying hello and nice to meet you- AND made our lives easier by sending face pictures. Nothing worse than not being able to put faces and names to profiles! -Mrs-

"If it's a social in a private venue, then yes, name badges would be a good thing. However, at a drinks night in a random bar/club, it's really not a good idea." it might be a private venue but most don't want staff to know they are from a swingers site tho.

" Hmm suppose you have a point there. They shouldn't be judging though as they are just renting out an area and taking your cash. If it's good business and you aren't shagging all over the place then it's win win for everyone really. An idea would be perhaps have everyone wear a sticker of some sort like a wee smiley face or something, just something discreet but would let people know that they are from fab but still be discreet to the lay person.

"If I was a business man, and no one else was wanting to take these parties for people who are seen as different to normal society, then I'd be taking every single social available. It's pretty ridiculous in this day and age that swinging is seen as a thing that is no no." Agreed. If we had the money we would open a club here

Image for these buisnesses is key I would think. and like it or lump it swinging has a stigma attached. You also have the residents and other buisnesses around you not wanting their area to seem sleezy or become a red light district. Its also such a tiny market. As a swinger myself if I had a buisness I wouldnt accept an open swingers party it wouldnt be worth the damage to the establishments name

I just don't understand how you would turn away business simply because they are swingers. It is a private event so no one outside that room needs to know who is inside.

"I wouldn't wear a badge You dont do labels No, I just don't trust people enough, not to take a pic and then do mischief with it. I learned the hard way" Good point, I completely overlooked this in my mind when I was thinking it would actually be a good idea if it was a closed party/social not open to Joe blogs walking in off the street. But even pics at a closed party can still turn out that way...

"Im not being hostile ? Just putting my point across I dont think openly saying your a swinger is a good idea in the enviroment we live in and imo not very good buisness sense" Ok, perhaps not hostile, more like a little raincloud of doom. Every post I've seen you on lately has always had a negative tone. Perhaps you're not aware of it but you give off a negative vibe

"Ooooooookaaaaaaay So back to the point in hand, confirmed my feelings that badges would be a bad idea. I can see the pros and cons but don't think it would be a goer. I think I do pretty well at making sure people are included and get chatting, but I'll keep a look out next time " For the first party. We have to say you did an amazing job. And I'm sure that everyone who attended the last party will agree with us. We felt you introduced everyone and were an amazing host. Looking forward to the next party. G and S xx
