Why do they call it a chat room , more folk seem to speak and answer you when you enter or leave the room than do actually chat while your in there?

No disrespect to those that do talk, but it can't just be what you type gets missed .......... type HIYA ....or.....BYE .....which are only one word and loads of folk say bye ???

Rant over .........!

The only time most ppl talk to you is when ur on a cam and thats just to say get ur tits out .. show us ur pussy .. how big are they .. its so sad that they cant make a decent conversation .. we have been in the room well over an hr before and ppl havent even seen we are there

thats cos your easy to talk to and with K some of us are a little shyer and once said hello cant follow converstaion so just leave again cos no one speaks to them even though they'd love to chat

I used to just say hi and bye for weeks when first in the chatrooms, now I blether pish for hours along with the rest of them. It does help if you or others have a subject worth discussing or a scintilating personality but it's never stopped me yet!! :¬)

Personally I think you only get out of chat what you put in.

Sometimes the room does go so fast that you can miss some info but I tend to keep an eye out for chat this is aimed at me personally.

I will say hi to everyone when i come in the room, i don't do WB's or long goodbyes. I say just join in and get on with it

There seems to have been a lot of moaning about the chatroom recently and personally I see no reason for it. If you're relatively new to the chatroom you cannot expect peeps to blether away to you right away... its the same as joining a new grooup in the pub. The more people see you the more they will ask about you and frankly some people have a cheek to say "no one talks to me" when they contribute nothing to the general banter thats in the room....we all have to start somewhere so start somewhere......even if its pish n blethers someone will pick up on what you say and get the convo going!

Yes I would agree with all that. You only get out what you put in.

when it stops being fun ... STOP.

goes for the site, forum and chatroom..

I love the chat room and have had the bestest laughs and I sure I will again, but it stopped being fun, so am taking a break.

I enjoy the forum, I have learnt from when I first posted in the lounge etc etc .. but again, when it stops being fun.... I will take a break..

we all get back what we out put into chat, forum and meets..

and to be honest, we will be liked by some and disliked by others, IT REFLECTS LIFE... so some will chat to you and some wont..

i totally agree with you there we always in general chat but we have started to venture into the scotland chatroom the past cpl of days and everyone has been so friendly and welcoming ....hope to chat to all some more

I agree sometimes the room can be slow and theres no flow of conversation.....other times its a good laugh and theres lots of banter.....depends on the mix of folks thats in.......some folks i banter with more than others......thats just life thou aint it, some you get on with better than others.

this is just it tho, there are just some people who you can't possibly chat with, no matter what you say the chat doesn't seem to flow.

As I said previously, I try not to do the whole hi, bye, wb thing but people take the hump when you don't say anything so it's a bit of a catch 22 situation. You really can't win either way.

I haven't been in chat much recently as I have been so busy at home but there is always all sorts of convos going on at any one time. Just because they aren't interesting to you doesn't make them any less important to anyone else. Convo's are forever changing and can easily be switched onto something else other than the weather, food and alcohol but they are simple subjects ... they get ppl chatting and that's all good.

Each time you go in a chat room it can be differernt, depepns what time of day ,I go in sometimes and dont really know anyone , but like laine, sorry lady laine (lol)I can talk crap like the rest , But sometimes if the chat is fast or Im erm perving I dont always see something, someone has put so I could be seen as rude , but I just didnt see it. I always try and ask how everyome is in the room New or Regular, and agree with above, if someone is new they dont always say much and it can be hard to keep convo going, I am also crap @ whispering so if you want to ask me anything then it is better to mail me then I will deffo answer you

Happy chatting peeps, a wee tip write some things down before you go in chat room and then chat about them , if you are nervous , like going for interview this helps so might help with this

Like going to a local pub..initially you say hi then bye..get to know the regulars, welcome the newcomers....put in your tuppence worth occasionally.. get known by them and before you know you will be chatting along too.

When we started using chatrooms I watched for a few times first, and realised that to join in I would just have to effectively butt in to peoples conversations,and to put the persons name you are speaking to against your sentance.

You may not be noticed straight away but eventually people notice your input and answer.

The census of opinion is "you get out what you put in" as our previous post have said we do put in chat, how much more can we put in ......... Jo, Steve and the other mods would kick us out chat if we started SHOUTING........lol.
