We're going to book next year's holiday tomorrow, looking at Croatia (dubrovnik) has anyone been before?

What's your preferred destination?

We've been looking at a place called Cavtat just outside Dubrovnik.....it's stunning

A close friend of ours has been to Croatia about 3 times in last few years and raves about it. It's somewhere we've fancied but always end up in Italy due to family. Interested to hear if you's book etc K x

I was in Croatia recently for Aberdeen game and was in a place called Rijeka.. It was really nice and very very cheap. But just round the beachfront is a more holiday type resort called Opatjia( think that's how its spelt). Hope that helps in any way.

We have been quite a few times. When we renewed our wedding vows we spent our second honeymoon in Zagreb. We have also been to Zadar which is on the coast and there are some great beaches there. It is a Country full of history and the people are very friendly. It is cheap and budget airlines fly there.

I suppose if you. Live in Scotland it doesn't appeal, but the highlands take some beating.

Cavtat is pretty nice and a bit quieter than dubrovnik but its only like half an hour way by bus/taxi. Good if you are looking for a beach holiday, mayby not so much if you looking to be partying for a week or two.

It's peace and quiet we look for in a holiday, been looking at Malta too but heard mixed reviews

Cavtat could be ideal then a few bars and restaurant and beach isnt overrun with too many kids
