I do know a lot of people that have been in some pretty sick bike accidents. I know I wouldn't chance it

I wouldn't ever get a bike, I'm too much of a speed freak and think I'd push my limits a bit too much so for the safety of myself and others it's just a no no! Although I do want to get a scooter just for nipping into the city n back in a rush, think it's just a case of being extra safe but so many bad drivers on the road nowadays

I love bikes. B has a couple. I know the risks involved and yes I am more fearful of other road users than him.

i like horse riding which is just as dangerous but he wouldn't bat I eyelid as its something I have done since my childhood.

I have been riding legally for a few months and yep millions of dicks on the road that don't pay attention to anything apart from what's in front of them! Sorry guys but its the older generation !! Oh I agree let him do a cbt ride a 125

Defo get where your coming from, i got into bikes done the cbt brought the bike of my dreams back then before even getting full licence Honda cbr 600 rr done the direct course to allow me to use my bike, lost some friends on bikes and some are plated up,

Mostly due to other car driver errors of not seeing them , hence now my bike for sale,

Speed demons on a 125 buddy ir a 600 you'd don't know what speed I lol been over 195 on a busa still never crashed as I said its the older people who just don't use mirrors and just assume that its safe to start pulling out before indicating lol the law is mirrors signal manoeuvre not the oppisite

I've been on the receiving end at a hospital bed with Superman in.

He was very very lucky to survive. Bleed to the brain, 3 broken ribs, broken clavicle and in a coma.

Same day he picked up the bike too.

Safe to say no more motorbikes.

We all care about our other halfs as well being worried when they are out on adventures. Can come to harm with any outdoor or adrenalin pursuits , All you can do is advise to take as much precaution as possible and let him enjoy his pleasures without making him feel in any way guilty of puting you through any turmoil or anguish.

We've all lost someone not just to bikes so keep it in perspective.

I think people should have the right to choose and if it's a dream to them why would you stand in someone's way.

People also need to keep it in perspective and any road user has a risk when out. I bet if he bought a bicycle and wanted to ride everywhere people wouldn't blink.

I do over 30,000 miles a year on bikes and sorry, people who have never tried to ride a bike or can't are putting the typical replies above.

Sad that these people just see the negative side to owning a bike. Also it's some of you in your nice safe metal boxes are the very reason you say it's dangerous.

life is a risk but I'd rather die having seen what I have than sitting behind a Pc saying you can't/won't

Trikes are excellent, I spent the summer last year travelling through the south of England on one.. What I wasn't prepared for was the attention though, at times it felt like I had waved at everyone in England and had my photie with them! The main thing I enjoyed was not being compelled to wear a helmet..... BORN TO BE MILD (no isn't misspell wild, I mean you can't really claim to be wild if you are using stabilisers! Haha)..
