Watching sex in class on channel 4 ... Anyone else watching?

Finding it really interesting how different our attitude to sexual education is to other countries.

I think countries like holland etc have the right idea kids should know everything about sexual education nit just protection obv its got to be age sensitive but i think we are lacking in this country x

It was really interesting and I'm glad she was challenging attitudes... but 'she'll swallow out of respect' had me and my flatmate in stitches!

She is fantastic. Sex ed in the UK hasn't moved forward in over 25 years. It's shocking. Kids are getting such ridiculous ideas and there is some fear for people to talk about things openly.

My boys are lucky (although they at time's may be embarrassed) I'm very open have had some very frank conversations with them and their friends.

There's no teaching about body awareness, consent and forming safe and healthy relationships. Nothing about respect and the difference between reality and porn. However when teachers and parents are too embarrassed to talk about these things it's no wonder the whole point is lost. And so many get hurt or end up with such ideas and mental scars they carry throughout their lives. I would welcome her in my son's school.

I will be the same when wee one gets t that age, relationships and closeness and sex is the most natural thing in the world but the perception and inability for people to talk about it is crazy. Really hope she gets somewhere with some of her ideas and classes x

Doubtless we'll have the usual idiots claiming sex education promotes promiscuity - about time the education system/government woke up and introduced proper sex education delivered by professionals - and not some embarrased teacher who has been forced into delivering it.
